PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Foreign, the first monograph on Eva Castiel, runs chronologically from the most recent installations of 2018 to the paintings of the 1980s. In showing the trajectory of the São Paulo artist, the book presents works that deal with memory, erasure, belonging and death through eight texts of different authors. The book design draws parallels with these works and their physical and conceptual features in a subtle way, such as reliefs on the cover and holes in the pages.

Juror Comments
A perfect size and tactility. This book is divided in the center, horizontally, with Portuguese on top and English below. A wonderful set-up for a bilingual book. There is refreshing rhythm between horizontal and vertical arrangements punctuated by full bleed images that lead you into the book and continue throughout. — Daphne Geismar
