PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Davide Balliano – Building Body was designed for the occasion of Davide Balliano’s solo exhibition at MARCA Museum in Catanzaro, Italy. The book showcases his body of work to date. Graphic, geometric, meditative — and by all accounts stunning — Davide Balliano’s work is collected in this art book, along with a conversation between Balliano and Whitney Museum’s curator Chrissie Iles, and a critical essay by Luigi Fassi, artistic director of the MAN – Contemporary Art Museum in Nuoro, Italy. Published by the excellent CURA.BOOKS, printed in Italy, and clocking in at over 200 pages, the book uses a mixture of coated and uncoated papers to bring a tactility that supports Balliano’s work itself.

Juror Comments
Very interesting opening sequence. The choice of red type for bilingual texts enhances the contrast which is also an inherent part of the art works and form a nice compliment to the overall appearance of the book. — Henk van Assen
