PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the geometries, the political and historical implications of the design feature within the Pavilion that refers to the Prime Meridian at nearby Greenwich and, materials of the Serpentine Pavilion design by Escobedo. This catalogue is the first publication to focus on her practice. It brings together writing and images that have acted as inspiration and reference points for Escobedo, with newly-commissioned texts that review her work to date and discuss the themes that informed her design for this year’s structure.
The design relates to the experience of duration and to the capacity to understand space and time as it moves through both the texture, the mirror, the position....
The publication includes a range of different paper stocks and two loose parts. One of these works as a mirror and must be held up to the page where it is inserted in order to read the lettering, which has been printed backwards.
Other paper stocks have been chosen for their tone and glossiness, to continue the theme of reflection throughout.

Juror Comments
The design of this books completely captures the time, space and details of the architecture. A variety of type sizes echoes the sense of space in the pavilion. There is a surprise at the turn of almost every page. The materials are sensuous, including the soft fabric cover without book boards. — Daphne Geismar
