PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This book documents a unique experience of a journey by Álvaro Siza Vieira, Vincent Mentzel and Kenneth Frampton to the early work of Siza in Porto. This book includes a vast collection of descriptions, drawings and photographs by Vincent Mentzel about the project, as well as a writing by Siza Vieira himself and other texts.
The book is designed as a journey through Portugal and the architecture of Alvaro Siza Vieira. The cover is printed in metallic ink on linnen and the inside "bronze" pages are printed with a mixture of orange PMS and bronze PMS to strengthen the colour on uncoated paper.

Juror Comments
Uncoated paper, diminutive size, and dense but unfussy typography allows the generous use of copper ink to actually work. I love the inclusion of four-color images sandwiched between a number of copper pages. A remarkable design, beautifully printed. Typography handles the interview format elegantly, and overall the book fits a lot of spatial/architectural photography into a book that is small, elegant, and a truly comfortable read. — Lucinda Hitchcock
