Rather than reconstruct the past, we chose to extend it. Creating the next artifact Wings themselves might have produced.

Embracing the changing aesthetic of Wings throughout the decade. Alex Trochut then designed a custom logo face for the band based off their 1963 logotype from Live and Let Die. He also illustrated a multi-layered world of Wings taking you through the decade. With over a dozen hidden illustrations weaving together, the illustration tells the story of the band’s journey across the full jacket.

Using the design of the standard edition, we built out the special edition which used a bookmaking method that we hadn’t seen used before. It was a combination of a box with a booklet sewn in and a nest for the actual book and other custom designed merch. We based the size off of a 12” LP and in the booklet we printed the front and back of every Wings album in full scale. This gives the reader the experience of flipping through their record collection. Finally, we decided to make a custom Greatest Hits LP using clear blue vinyl and custom labels to live inside the package as well.

The interior of the book also retained the same spirit, pushing the design and typographic boundaries while still retaining function.
The result is a design language that reflects movement, collaboration, and evolution—qualities intrinsic to the band’s legacy. By looking forward rather than backward, we created a visual identity that feels authentic, contemporary, and unmistakably Wings.
