PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Baggu: Hold Everything, 15 years is a comprehensive 680-page catalog of the products and prints produced by Baggu between 2007 and 2022. Each copy of the book is bound in one of five different fabrics from the archive of Baggu textile patterns. The book functions as a visual reference library and index that connects each pattern, color, and material with the product it was used for.
There are over 450 swatches of Baggu's ripstop nylon colors and patterns in the book. Each one was rendered as a single sheet of undulating fabric the exact size of the press sheet that the book was printed on. The process of folding and gathering signatures and then flipping through the book itself is similar to folding and unfolding a bag.
A ribbon with a line from Ursula K. Le Guin’s essay “The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction”—helps readers keep their place.

Juror Comments
“Straddled the line well between product and book. At times much like a swatchbook or wallpaper catalogue, in a compelling way.”
