PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This book is a broad survey of architectural work that problematizes, resists, and exceeds signification by appealing to other kinds of cultural engagements, agreements, and fantasies of architecture’s origins. Work is organized into thematic categories with images becoming larger as you go through the book. Work presented on the category pages are all in grayscale, allowing the viewer to focus on formal comparisons within each spread. A full color thumbnail index is presented as a kind of table of contents in the beginning. Between each thematic category, there are interludes where each author presents an introduction to each of the categories. The book is anchored by Prelude and Postlude essays printed on pink parchment paper.

Juror Comments
“The layout of the index or chronology is fun to look at; the playfulness and inventiveness of the rest of the book. The pink parchment paper is gorgeous and I love the grids of images and how they grow larger as the book progresses. The captions are also very nicely done.” —Kimberly Varella
