PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Chuen Lung, an idyllic settlement in Hong Kong's Tai Mo Shan, is home to an almost 600-year-old village. In a memorable encounter, art said Hi! to amiable villagers who waved back by infusing art with the vitality of the everyday.
This publication is a review and return of Hi! Hill—Art in-Situ. Encapsulating lively co-creations and committed revisits, this memento for all villagers and participants is also a field record of art as social interaction.
The concept of the cover resembles one of the art’s artist artwork, which is still present in the village, thus we use the concept of “legacy/trace” on the cover, with a debs effect of the artwork, it shows the message even the art piece will vanish one day, but the experience will be embedded to all villagers & visitors’ life experience.
Throughout the book, it is not just a visual archive of all artist’s development, but would like to through this book to engage people that have been there too, therefore, we tried to replica the artwork/experience in different printed matter, to let the reader experience the journey once more, and also serve as a bookmark for convenience.

Juror Comments
“Multilingual books are always super hard. This does a great job of mitigating so many factors and sticking to beautiful and legibility along with play and craft. I am really drawn to the use of yellow as well as images and type. Such a good dance and brilliantly executed.” —Brian Johnson
