PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The English illustrator Anna Atkins (1799-1871) was a modern woman in in every way. For the publication of her plant collections, she used the latest technique, the newly invented cyanotype. In 1843, she created the first photographic book in history, with images of breathtaking beauty and originality that often look like modern art.
We want to give Anna Atkins new attention: A small, "blue book" with many details, some Essays and a Biography.
The typeface Sage regular picks up the shapes of the images – we printed all the texts in a Pantone blue and finished the book with a beautiful endpaper.
