PROJECT DESCRIPTION
"Conexiones" is a book that combines two formats: a landscape volume (8.5 x 5.5'') that includes a series of urban photographs (elevated paths connecting buildings in Bogotá) by Colombian visual artist Nicolás Consuegra, and a portrait volume (5.5 x 8.5'') containing an essay by Colombian architect Enrique Ramírez that combines historic, urban and metaphysical references to the term “connections.” Both volumes are bound by their back cover in a dos-à-dos binding, and together, they result in a book with two front covers. The essay by Ramírez is neither an explanation of nor a reflection on Consuegra’s photographs—and vice versa: both images and text reflect on similar topics, but they have their own space (and place) in this artist’s book.
