PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kyle Myer’s work is made from weaving African textiles with photos of men wearing that same textile. The complicated originals are very challenging to reproduce (as they want to devolve into moiré patterns) but were also the inspiration for many of the design decisions in the book: from pages printed on cloth to replicate the original textiles, to varnishing the jacket and endpapers to mimic the glossy/matte pattern of the weavings; to including an actual remnant of the cloth as a bookmark in every copy.

Juror Comments
"As much as I like an all typographic cover, I am equally impresses by a photographic cover that captures my attention. The interior, with bookmark, demonstrates the attention to detail inherent in the artist's work." —Jennifer Morla
